๐ฐ๏ธ History & Tradition
The village is believed to have been founded in the late 16th or early 17th century, during the period of Samos' repopulation with settlers from Asia Minor and the Dodecanese. Agriculture was the main occupation, especially the cultivation of olive trees, vineyards, and grains, while animal husbandry also played a major role.
๐ Koumeika was known for its vibrant social life and strong interest in education and politics โ with the village square and cafรฉs being central to public discussions and gatherings.
